| It Takes Vision... | |

More than 20 years ago, five local families gathered to pray about starting a Christian school. God gave them an extraordinary goal: to establish a school that would provide exemplary education to children of Christian families, equipping them to be lifetime followers of Jesus Christ. By faith, Christian Heritage Academy opened in 1984 with 61 students, and within ten years outgrew the rental facilities in Northbrook. God once again gave Vision to these families that enabled them to step out in faith to purchase a beautiful campus on 15 acres in Northfield. Today, CHA has grown to more than 400 students in preschool through eighth grade, and has sent out hundreds of graduates prepared to impact their world for God’s glory. Year after year, as we have exercised faith, God has blessed CHA "…exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think…" (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV) He gives Vision, and delights to lead His people in faith to accomplish His purposes Above and Beyond all that we can imagine. What has been our strategy to accomplish God’s extravagant plan to change lives for eternity? We invest. For 23 years, CHA has been preparing students—body, mind and spirit—to live uncommon lives, for His glory. We pour out God’s Word, love and grace so that each student gains wisdom, knowledge and an understanding of his place in the world. This iPod generation is accustomed to instant entertainment and gratification, but we seek to impart patience, perseverance, understanding and depth. In a "text message" world that focuses on what and where (using the fewest letters,) we teach why and how. We’re developing young minds to think critically and conceptually, consider others above self, and engage the world around them in a biblically thoughtful and sensitive manner. CHA’s educational experience transcends expectation. We focus on meeting the unique needs of each student, and give them opportunities to discover their unique God-given gifts. Students begin to move beyond the acquisition of knowledge, to the exercise of wisdom. They progress beyond complacency with familiar Bible passages, to honestly exploring how the Bible applies to life. They are encouraged to rise above preoccupation with self, and learn to embrace community and group goals. Students grow artistically as they move beyond imitating the ideas of others and begin the process of creating their own story. They learn to act "right" not just to avoid consequences, and begin to gain understanding and acceptance of biblical reasons for doing what is right. God has entrusted CHA to provide a Christ-centered education that surpasses expectation. He continues to lead us... above & beyond
