Founding Principles

"With much prayer, and with God's provision for every need along the  way,
an idea -- once just a dream -- has become a reality."

Dr. Wayne Grudem
Founding President, CHA's Board of Director

Christian Heritage Academy once existed only in the minds and hearts of a handful of parents.  Brought together through prayer in the early 1980's, these parents shared a strong desire for a biblical, God-centered focus in their children's education.  Christian Heritage Academy's founding principles include:

a conviction that God has placed with parents the responsibility for training their children; accordingly, the school would be primarily parent-governed, with high academic standards which support the values being taught in the home and church;

a conviction that reverence for the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and that in Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  Such truth serves as the foundation for a school which promotes inquiry into all areas of creation and culture from a Christ-centered perspective;

a conviction that the influence of teachers as Christian models is essential in the educational experience; and

a conviction that Christian education should encourage the whole-person development of students as they learn to love the Lord with all their hearts, souls and minds; analyze issues with Biblical discernment; become proficient in academic skills; mature in their ability to live the Christian life as salt and light in the culture and society in which God places them; and who are committed to maintain their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.

Christian Heritage Academy continues to pursue the original objective identified at its founding; that is producing students committed to excellence in all areas of life.  Christian Heritage Academy prepares students to enter college able to compete, to excel, to lead and especially to live out the values entrusted to them by their families, churches and school.
